CERTIFICATES IN THE ANNANDALE APPROACH TO EMOTION-FOCUSED WORK

The Annandale approach is the sister approach to the original Canadian approach to Emotion-Focused work. This approach was developed at the Annandale Institute, NSW, Australia over the last 30 years by a passionate group of practitioners working with individuals and couples. The approach is described as a humanistically and psychodynamically-based relational psychotherapy, a model that understands the importance of emotions and processing emotional experience as well as re-experiencing and regression work that is required for healing. Some of the new developments in our approach, such as the construct of Emotional Signature and Emotion-Focused methods for working with childhood trauma, have been researched and validated. Two practitioner guides in the Annandale approach are now available in both print and online formats: Emotion-Focused Counselling and Emotion-Focused Psychotherapy.

CERTIFICATE IN EMOTION-FOCUSED COUNSELLING

To be eligible for the Certificate in Emotion-Focused Counselling, practitioners need to complete three workshops: The Annandale Approach (or equivalent), Developing Emotional Awareness, and Facilitating the Experiencing Process. In addition, practitioners need to attend six individual or group supervisions, facilitated by the Annandale Institute trainers or other approved supervisors who hold postgraduate qualifications in the Annandale Approach.
