RESTORING THE AUTHENTIC SELF

Restoring the authentic self is an advanced Emotion-Focused psychotherapy program where we will explore the processes required to discover and restore the self.

Emotion-Focused psychotherapy involves working to recover the authentic self. For some this involves having their unprocessed emotional experience from childhood traumas. For others this is not enough. What is required is to ascertain the core belief about self and/or other that needs to be dealt with in a way that frees the client to bring forward the authentic self. In addition, empathic achievement is also not enough. Practitioners need to discover and provide a therapeutic relationship that is corrective – providing what is needed to heal the client.

In this training program Michelle and Clare will help you explore the processes required to discover and restore the self. There are 5 days scheduled with a focus on exploring the healing process, with specific attention on how to work with self-experience, and the role of the therapeutic relationship.

There will be opportunities to listen to clinical material, observe demonstrations, and have mini-practices.
